There are just some home essentials that fly under the radar for way too long. One of those things for me is sheets. Bedding can be super expensive (who the heck buys each sheet separately?!) so we wear ours out and then I end up asking for sheets for Christmas. Not a bad thing but not what I particularly want to be asking for.
Back in March, I had three sets of sheets in my house: the flannel winter sheets, the silky summer sheets and the not-so-comfy cotton sheets used for camping trips. Since Indiana is so bipolar with her weather, I was considering buying a set of jersey sheets for the in between months when it’s 80 degrees one day and 40 the next. And then these happened.
My sister-in-law and I were strolling through the bedding aisles in Target and I happened to put my hand on this set of microfiber sheets. They felt amazing to the touch and they were on sale for $20 so I decided that we would try them out. Slipping into bed with these the first night made me gloriously happy. They’re light as a feather and suuuuuper soft but not cold at all. Over the first month or so, we noticed some pilling but that seems to have mostly gone away after a wash or two.
I didn’t even know that microfiber sheets existed and I’m sure there is some reason why a professional decorator would shame me for buying them but I don’t care. They were the cheapest set in a pretty color (aqua) and after sleeping on them for two months, I can safely say they are amazing. If you’re looking for a new set of sheets or maybe a spare set for a guest bedroom, definitely get thyself a pair of microfiber sheets! You won’t regret it.
And in case you were wondering, the set does come with pillowcases. We just sleep in the pink silk ones Dearest Carl bought me for Christmas instead. See? Bedding for Christmas isn’t that bad!
