Happy Friday! Our Chicago trip was amazing, you guys! And so very romantic which is just what a fifth anniversary should me. After dinner at The Melting Pot (my favorite restaurant) on Friday evening, we made the late night drive up. Saturday we spent the day traipsing around Navy Pier and the surrounding area with my sister-in-law and her husband. We took a boat tour through the city and stumbled into a jazz festival and ended the day with a lovely delicious Italian dinner. Sunday we went swimming with the kids’ at a neighbor’s pool, ordered pizza for dinner and enjoyed an evening bonfire, complete with bedtime stories. Then Monday was completely relaxing and soaking in the hugs before we came home. It was such a good weekend and the perfect amount of time away. But this week has been great too and not just because it was short. September is here and Indiana obliged us with some cooler weather to celebrate! We’ve had our windows open all week and I’ve been eating all the pumpkin spice things I can find. I also decorated the house and front porch for Fall. Bring on the hot cider and bonfires and scarves!
This weekend is full of house duties and baking for us. We also started watching the Harry Potter series so I’m sure we’ll sneak the next one in there someplace. What are you up to?
Have a good weekend!
