Maybe it’s just me, but this week felt heavy. Soul heavy. We acknowledged the 16th anniversary of 9/11. Devastation from hurricanes and wildfires are all over the news. Prayers are lifted for broken bodies, young and old. Hearts break and we blame our pasts, our issues, our sinful selves for the hurt. Yeah, it’s been a soul heavy week. And it’s weeks like these that I’m thankful for a God who is bigger than our problems, bigger than natural disasters, bigger than terrorist attacks. He sees the full picture when we only see a sliver. He offers hope and peace and rest if we will reach out to take it.
Anyway, how was your week? Mine was much different than I expected but it turned out pretty good. I discovered how to make a Cinnamon Dolce Latte and also made a loaf of pumpkin bread amidst a great deal of Downton Abbey watching and candle burning. It was restful. This weekend we plan on hanging out with our small group a good bit and I’m going to make these. See? I can’t stop baking! What are you up to?
Have a good one!
