What We’re Eating

Good morning! Have a good weekend? Mine was simply spectacular. Friday night we had a lovely evening with my family, eating fettuccini alfredo and opening presents. For the first time in my life, I blew out birthday candles on a cake I made myself. My Pink Champagne Cake was everything I’d ever hoped and dreamed; very pink, very fluffy and very champagne-y. Saturday Dearest Carl filled my day with fun sights and experiences. We visited Garfield Park Conservatory, smelled all the candles at the mall, browsed through a quaint little bookstore and ended the day with delicious steak. And then yesterday, I read through the Super Bowl, mooched on party food and kinda sorta missed baking a cake. In the end, it was a lovely birthday weekend and I’m ready to say hello to twenty-six!

As it often happens with first grocery trips of the month, this week is full of good food. I’m in the mood for all the Chinese food so I’m planning on a few Asian dishes this month and I’m not skimping on ingredients. Also, I tried Bulletproof Coffee for the first time this past week and I actually liked it! Have you ever had it? Since Dearest Carl bought me an immersion blender for my birthday, I’m going to try drinking it for a bit. 

Monday: Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese
Tuesday: In the Pantry
Wednesday: Fried Rice
Thursday: Chocolate Chip Waffles
Friday: Creamy Herb Chicken and Green Beans
