Yeah, summertime isn’t really the time you sit in and watch movies. However every so often, you’ll get that rainy afternoon or free Friday evening that’s just begging for you to pop some popcorn and relax with a flick. So if you’re pining for a good summertime love story, here’s what I recommend in the period drama department.
Far From The Madding Crowd (Rent Here): It’s sweeping music, it’s beautiful scenery, the love triangle story, it’s a beautiful movie with plenty of sunshine.
The Young Victoria (Rent Here): You can’t go wrong with the classic Victoria and Albert tale and this is one of my favorite renditions. All hail Emily Blunt.
Howards End (Stream Here): Just in case you end up on the sofa with a summer cold, this TV movie is such a sweet story about family, love and finding a place in this world.
Becoming Jane (Stream Here): A tribute to my favorite author, this movie captures the summertime romance we may have experienced in our younger days.
