2017 Spring Movies

Don’t you love it when you find a movie to look forward to and a reason to go to the theater? I sure do. The smell of the popcorn, letting your phone fall to the bottom of your purse, spending a couple hours immersed in another story, another experience, another life. It’s partially the experience that makes it so great. This Spring, everyone knows about Beauty and the Beast (in theaters March 17th) and everyone is looking forward to that. But I’m looking beyond the Beast and there are several movies that I’m excited about. Take a look at maybe one of them will intrigue you as well!

The Zookeeper’s Wife

Release Date – March 31st

Why I Want To See It – I love history so much. So when I heard about this movie, I knew I had to see it. It’s based on a true WWII story about a woman who uses her husband’s zoo to hide Jews during the Nazi invasion. And Jessica Chastain stars which will inevitably make it great.

The Circle

Release Date – April 28th

Why I Want To See It – You probably didn’t know that Emma Watson was in another movie premiering this spring, did you? Well she is, along with Karen Gillian (Dr. Who) and Tom Hanks. This looks like a thriller involving technology and make you think about how sharing life’s every detail on social media can be bad.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Release Date – May 9th

Why I Want To See It – This borders on my “no more superhero movies in theaters” policy. But Dearest Carl really liked the first one and I rather enjoyed it so I definitely wouldn’t say no if he wants to see this in theaters!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Release Date – May 26th

Why I Want To See It – Yes, I’m 25 and I kinda love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. They might be a little cheesy but there’s just something about an open sea adventure that makes my heart beat a little faster. So I’m seeing this at some point obviously.

What about you? Any spring movies I should be aware about?
