What We’re Eating

Good morning! I feel like we’re reaping the full effects of those April showers these days. We’re going to be seeing the lilacs burst this week and I couldn’t be more excited! But anyway, how was your weekend? Ours was quite nice! Dearest Carl worked really hard, getting the yard mowed and digging into a plumbing project (literally). On one of the Menards runs, he let me get a bird bath and a hook for my hummingbird feeder! So my little bird corner is all set up and let me tell you, I’m going to be buying birdseed weekly at this rate. Also, my banana cake was a hit with my church fam and I took some time to paint with my watercolors. It really was a restful, wonderful weekend.

This week we’re starting off with freezer finds but then I’m delving into my cookbooks as we usher in the month of May. I highly recommend How To Celebrate Everything! Not only does it include tons of delicious recipes, it’s such an inspiring read about traditions and celebrating for your family. Using food obviously. Oh, and I can say that those waffles are to die for. You might want to make a library trip this week to pick up those books…
